Ken MAYER (1918-1985)

Ken MAYER naquit le 25 juin 1918 à San Francisco, Californie. Après son service militaire dans la division de renseignements de l’United States Army Air Corps, Ken Mayer poursuivit l’art dramatique à la Pasadena Community Playhouse, où il obtint la récompense du "meilleur-acteur" en 1948.
En plus d’être l’annonceur de The Pinky Lee Show, et en dehors de Space Patrol, Ken Mayer apparut dans les séries télévisées, Father Knows Best, Whirlybirds, Harbor Command, Casey Jones, Richard Diamond, Private Detective, Superman, Jefferson Drum, Cimarron City, Rintintin, Rescue 8, Yancy Derringer, Trackdown, The Alaskans, Black Saddle, Au nom de la loi, Sugarfoot, Johnny Ringo, Overland Trail, Law of the Plainsman, The Texan, Peter Gunn, Two Faces West, Cheyenne, Maverick, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Rawhide, La grande caravane, Mon martien favori, Le Virginien, Bonanza et Gunsmoke, entre autres. Le travail de Ken Mayer dans le commercial télévisuel comprend des spots publicitaires pour la bière Stroh et les absorbeurs de choc Monroe.
Ken Mayer incarna le Marshall Hobe Martin en 1962 dans l’épisode, "Girl with a Gun," de la série western anthologique, Les aventuriers du Far-West, narré par Stanley Andrews. La même année, Ken Mayer apparut dans la peau de Clay Friendly, l’adjoint du shérif, dans l’épisode de Le virginien intitulé "The Accomplice."
Ken Mayer apparut dans les films Ambush at Cimarron Pass, The Miracle of the Hills, Frontier Uprising, Gun Fight, You Have to Run Fast, The Clown and the Kid, Jack le tueur de géants, Le bagarre de la dernière chance, La montagne des neuf Spencer, Les nouveaux internes, Bonnie et Clyde, Le pistolero de la rivière rouge et Little Big Man.
Ken Mayer décéda d’une attaque cardiaque le 30 janvier 1985 à North Hollywood, Los Angeles, Californie à 66 ans.
