Directed by Tenny Wright
Starring John Wayne, Frank McHugh, and Marceline Day
“The Telegraph Trail” is set on the American frontier around 1860. Telegraph lines are rapidly inching across the plains, and transcontinental communications no longer seems like a dream. But in one part of the country the line runs into trouble. Indian attacks are being perpetrated by a white gunman named Gus Lynch (Albert J. Smith), who also has the nearby town buffaloed. On the scene to lend help is young John Trent (John Wayne), cavalry scout, and his bumbling friend, Tippy (Frank McHugh). John quickly rallies the settlers to aid the telegraph workers and manages to push the line through, defeat Lynch and his native allies, and win the heart of little Alice Keller (Marceline Day).
One of the most outstanding features of this film is the role of Tippy. Frank McHugh is a hilarious actor and acquits himself well as a bumbling, yet well-meaning, sidekick. There's also a very nice scene with lovely music played on the harmonica, guitar, etc.

Oh, I know. I love that page. I've been on it like 5 million times. The moderators of the forum asked me to put any posts with words over here on the English forum, since I cannot speak any French. Thank you, though.
